Unemployment rate remains unchanged at 2.5% – NSO

The National Statistics Office latest data show that in November, the monthly unemployment rate remained stable at 2.5%, for the third month in succession, but was down by 0.4 percentage points from November 2022.
For November, in a breakdown, the unemployment rate for males was 2.3% while the rate for females stood at 2.7%.
The number of unemployed persons was 7,583 in November, with the 25 to 74 age group being the major contributor to the overall level of unemployment with a figure of 5,439, the NSO said.
The seasonally adjusted number of unemployed youths amounted to 2,144.
The unemployment rate during the same month for persons aged 15 to 24 years (youth unemployment rate) increased to 7.4% from 7.0% the previous month, while the rate for those between 25 and 74 years stood at 2.0%, at par with October.
