A motorcyclist died on Sunday evening after he lost control of his motorbike and crashed into an electricity pole.

The accident happened at around 8.40pm in Triq Marsalforn, Gozo. Police on patrol found the victim on the ground

The 64-year old man, a German national from Xaghra, was given first assistance by a medical team from the Gozo General Hospital, but was sadly certified dead at the scene.

A magisterial inquiry is underway and Police investigations are ongoing.
