Malta Public Transport has announced the transition to its Winter Schedule starting Monday, the 23rd of September on weekdays. There will be no changes made to the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) schedules.

In Gozo, routes 311 (Victoria – Dwejra) and 322 (Mgarr – Marsalforn) will operate every 60 and 90 minutes

Key changes also include the removal of summer extensions for routes 49 (Valletta – Ghadira), 74 (Valletta – Zurrieq), 109/109A (Siggiewi – Bahrija), and 101/101B (Mgarr – ?irkewwa), reverting to regular winter routes. Additionally, several routes will see increased frequency during peak hours, including route 43 (Valletta – Naxxar), route 61 (Valletta – Haz-Zebbug), route 72 (Valletta – Qrendi), route 73 (Valletta – Zurrieq), and route 90 (Valletta – Haz-Zabbar).

Some routes will revert to their Winter schedules with adjusted frequencies, such as routes 212 (Tas – Sliema – Bu?ibba), which will change from 15 to 20 minutes during peak hours; route 221 (Bugibba – Cirkewwa), shifting from 15 to 30 minutes during peak hours; and route 222 (Tas-Sliema – Cirkewwa), with a frequency change from 15 to 20 minutes during peak hours. Routes 223 (Bugibba – Ghajn Tuffieha) and 225 (Tas – Sliema – Ghajn Tuffie?a) will operate every 60 minutes, respectively. Route 53 (Valletta – Rabat) will see a frequency change from 30 to 60 minutes. Routes X1A (Cirkewwa – Università ta’ Malta) and 150 (Lascaris – MCAST) will resume operations in line with the start of the scholastic year.

In addition to these changes, night routes will also be adjusted starting 22nd of September. Route N13 (Valletta – San Giljan) will offer higher frequency on Fridays and Saturdays, while routes N48 (Valletta – Bugibba) and N91 (Valletta – Marsaskala) will have extended weekend services. From the 6th of October, route TD10 (Valletta – Marsaxlokk) will provide more frequent service on Sundays.

The timetables located at the bus stops will be updated during this period.

Malta Public Transport reminded the public that Day Routes, Night Routes, and certain Special Services are part of the Free Public Transport scheme.

To benefit from free transport, passengers must have a valid personalised Tallinja Card and tap it against the ticket machine each time they board the bus. Passengers without Tallinja Cards will need to purchase a ticket on board.
