Today’s data from the National Statistics Office show that in September, the annual rate of inflation as measured by the RPI was 1.2%, down from 1.5% in August.

The highest annual inflation rates in September were registered in Other goods and services (4.4%) and Personal care and health (3.4%).

On the other hand, the lowest annual inflation rates were registered in Furnishings and household equipment (-0.8%) and Transport and communication (-0.5%)

The NSO noted that the largest contribution to the overall annual inflation was measured in the Food Index (+0.45 percentage points), which, as in previous months, was largely due to the higher prices of restaurant services.

The largest downward contribution was recorded in the Transport and communication Index (-0.12 percentage points).

The 12-month moving average rate for September stood at 2.2%.
