GO supports Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna, the Malta Heritage TrustGO has announced that it recently pledged its full support to Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna, the Malta Heritage Trust. GO is being appointed the exclusive communications partner of Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna and will provide various of its cutting-edge communications services including credit on fixed telephone lines, internet service at the Trust’s various sites, BlackBerry and mobile service, Web Hosting , free Bandluxe and Internet Everywhere on the move with unlimited 5GB usage.

As a result of the sponsorship signed recently between the two parties, Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna, the Malta Heritage Trust – renown on the local and and international scenario for its ongoing work in the field of heritage preservation – now has the chance to enjoy the exclusive hands-on experience of premium communications services provided by GO. The initiative is aimed at boosting the the Malta Heritage Trust’s drive towards making Maltese world-class cultural heritage more accessible to the Maltese community at large.

Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna is very active in the field of heritage conservation and, run by a dedicated team of professionals supported by volunteers, it looks after a several historical buildings and sites around the Maltese islands. Malta Heritage Trust properties cover 7000 years of Maltese history from pre-history to the 20th century and include a 17th century coastal tower at Xghijra, the Lascaris War Rooms in Valletta, the Malta at War Museum estension at Couvre Porte, Vittoriosa, Notre Dame Gate in Vittoriosa, St Thomas Tower in Marsascala, Madliena Tower in Pembroke, Fort Rinella in Kalkara, the Saluting Battery in Valletta – and more.

Speaking about the partnership agreement, GO Chief Executive Officer, David Kay said: “We are indeed delighted to be committing ourselves to this worthy cause, to join forces with Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna and have an active role in its efforts to enhance the historical and cultural experience for our customers and their families.”

A presentation was symbolically held at The Saluting Battery in Valletta where Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna is currently carrying out works that will restore the premises to its former glory while reflecting a clear insight into the life of the 18th century naval gunners. During the presentation, Executive Chairman for Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna, Mario Farrugia thanked GO for its praiseworthy initiative and said: “We truly appreciate GO’s support of our many projects that share the common objective of raising public awareness to the nation’s rich cultural and historical heritage.”

“I trust that the commendable gesture on behalf of GO will encourage other companies to follow suit and work closely with the Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna team – major players locally – to safeguard Malta’s historical and cultural heritage for the benefit of present and future generations,” he went on.
