This year’s Locality Honour – Gieh-in-Nadur 2024 has been awarded to Dr Josianne Cutajar by the Mayor of Nadur Edward Said during a ceremony held on Saturday.

The Award was given by the Nadur Local Council to Dr Cutajar as a former Councillor and first Member of the European Parliament from Gozo. The Council thanked her for her service.

The Active Senior Award was presented by the Local Council to Mrs. Lina Mifsud, who, the Council said, “does not use age as an excuse, but provides continuous service in the community.”

“Thank you Lina for your commitment to the Day Centre for the Elderly, the outings and also in the organisation of so many other initiatives. You really deserve it and we are proud of you,” the Council said.

Mark Azzopardi was presented with the Council Volunteer Award for his continued help. The Council said that he is “always ready to lend a hand in the organisation of various events, presentations, and even during so many activities.

It added that “this is in addition to your work in so many other areas. We are proud of you and we greatly appreciate your volunteer work.”
