Police said that a 38-year-old Zebbug man has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery at the Gozo Cathedral.

The incident occurred early on Wednesday morning, when two hooded individuals attempted to break into the Cathedral by tampering with a door. Police said that the two men fled when they spotted a security officer.

Following investigations and searches, the Police said that it identified and arrested the suspect, and he is expected to be arraigned in Gozo Court later on Saturday afternoon.
