After going around more than ten cities and villages in Malta, Guginu, the official mascot of the Commissioner for Children, spent two days meeting with children in Gozo.

The curve of Guginu is being organised by the Office of the Commissioner for Children in Malta as a celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the United Nations having launched the Convention on the rights of children. The day is celebrated every year by this international convention on the 20th of November.

The event began Friday morning in Gozo with an interactive programme in the Rose Magro Primary School, Xewkija. The Commissioner for Children, Ms Carmen Zammit attended the event. The children were able to learn more about the rights as expressed by the UN convention. They also participated in activities that included video, games and theater forum, as well as being given promotional material to read.

On Saturday morning, the circle of Guginu led to Nadur, where children including local and foreign, took part in organised games and entertainment that promoted the message about the rights of children. This event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono and Parliamentary Secretary for Dialogue and public consultation, Chris Said.
