Latest data from the National Statistics Office show that the number of registered unemployed in December increased once again, this time by 160 persons over December 2023 levels, to 1,115.

The figures revealed that males accounted for 66.8% or 745 of total registrants while females accounted for the remaining 33.2% or 370 registrants.

The NSO also noted that increases in the registered unemployment levels were recorded in the majority of the age groups.

The number of persons with a disability registering for work went down by 11 persons over the same period in 2023 at 220. Males accounted for 75.5% of total registrants with a disability.

Clerical support jobs were as usual, the most common occupations sought by the registered unemployed.
