While visiting a number of families in Gozo, Prime Minister Robert Abela inaugurated a social housing project in Victoria, Gozo and the regeneration of the Tac-Cawla area, where construction work was completed on a block of eight social housing apartments providing accommodation for eight families.
The PM said that “this project was completed ahead of schedule and was carried out on an area of ??3,750 square metres of land, of which 330 square metres, meaning 9% of the existing space, was dedicated to social housing.”
The remaining space -a three-hectare area – was regenerated with a playing field, an outdoor gym, a recreational area with water features as well as extensive landscaping. Abela said that “this project also ensured that no trees were lost, in fact, more indigenous trees were planted in this area to give it a more beautiful appearance in a more relaxing environment.”
While speaking to a number of families living in the area and who benefited from these recreational areas, Prime Minister Robert Abela, accompanied by Ministers Clint Camilleri and Roderick Galdes, stated that “the Government is once again keeping its promise to Maltese and Gozitan families where it continues to deliver beneficial projects that also elevate the quality of life.”
