Ambjent Malta said that it is currently undertaking several ecological restoration and conservation projects on the beautifully biodiverse island of Comino.

The Government organisation said that its “dedicated team is hard at work removing invasive alien species and various types of litter from the island. This important step is paving the way for the planting of native trees, helping to boost the island’s natural capital, and support its various ecosystems.”

Comino is not only a place of breathtaking natural beauty – it also harbours various habitats of importance, making it a vital sanctuary for native flora and fauna which we are committed to protect and restore it for future generations.

Ambjent Malta was set up in 2018 and is responsible for the “preservation and enhancement of Malta’s natural capital and biodiversity in rural, urban, coastal an marine landscapes.”
