Police were called to Xlendi Bay at around 7.15am this morning, after people in the locality spotted a man unconscious in the sea.
The man was brought ashore by people nearby and given first aid. A medical team arrived shortly afterwards but unfortunately, the man, a 67-year old resident of Munxar, was certified dead at the scene.
Police investigations are ongoing and a Magisterial Inquiry is underway.
