The Parliamentary Secretariat For the Elderly and Community Care, has announced that the process of vaccination against influenza (A) H1N1 is continuing and will now move to the next phase.
With effect from tomorrow, Thursday, the 14th of January, the vaccinanation will get underway for children aged 6 months to 5 years.
Children this age are considered the next most vulnerable group, therefore parents are encouraged to go to their local Health Centre or the Gozo General Hospital to have their children vaccinated.
Vaccinations times for those who are eligible are:
Monday to Saturday – From 10:00am to 1:00pm and from 3.00pm to 7.00 pm.
Gozo General Hospital – From 8:00am to 1:00pm.
It is important that children are accompanied by a parent. If this is not possible, the person who accompanies the child must take with them a note written by a parent and a identification of the parent. An immunisation record card will be completed at the time of vaccination.
By yesterday evening a total of 46,928 people had been vaccinated
