The Emergency Response Rescue Corps has advised that due to the recent flooding caused by heavy rain, the Environmental Health Directorate has taken the decision to temporarily close Xlendi Bay for swimming.

“This is the second closure this year, and while it is always disappointing to see one of our beautiful bays out of use, we truly appreciate how quickly the authorities are acting to safeguard public health and resolve the underlying issues,” said the ERRC.

It thanked the government agencies for their “swift response and commitment to ensuring that Xlendi Bay can return to being a safe and enjoyable destination as soon as possible.”

The ERRC said that, “we’ll continue to keep you updated. In the meantime, let’s all do our part in protecting our seas and supporting efforts to keep our bays clean and safe for everyone.”
