A Pet Fun Day is going to be held in Pjazza Mithna ta’ Kola, in Xaghra, this coming Sunday, between 10am and 6pm, organised by the Xaghra Local Council.
This event is taking place with the support of the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights and the Ministry for Gozo and Planning, as well as various other entities and organisations.
Pet Fun Day will offer a unique experience for families and all those who love animals. The programme includes dog shows, educational sessions, information stands as well as essential services such as microchipping and veterinary advice.
The day aims to combine entertainment and education, while raising awareness about the care and responsibility towards animals.
Minister Anton Refalo stated that, “this activity is not only an opportunity for families and pet owners to enjoy a day full of activities, but also a clear message in favour of the proper protection of animals. I thank the Xaghra Local Council, animal welfare organisations, veterinarians, NGOs and all the volunteers who, with their commitment, are making this event possible. Thanks to this dedication, Pet Fun Day will be a memorable experience for everyone who attends.”
Minister Clint Camilleri added that, “all families are invited to attend with their pets, in what promises to be a lovely day out for all families in this typical village, in a beautiful area opposite ta’ Kola Windmill.”
Xaghra Mayor Victor Curmi said, “as a local council we are very proud to be organising the Pet Fun Day in the locality. This is an initiative that not only offers entertainment for all families, but also helps to continue to foster a culture of respect and care towards animals. I would like to thank all the Ministries and entities that are supporting this activity. This is one of many that we collaborate with and thanks to this commitment we look forward to hosting a successful activity.”
