The results of a recent study carried out on Mgarr Road, which runs from Mgarr Harbour through Ghajnsielem and Xewkija to Victoria, have provided “a number of traffic calming measures which have now been forwarded to the Ministry for Gozo and Planning for implementation,” said Transport Minister Chris Bonnett.
The Transport Minister advised that Transport Malta prepared the study in recent months in light of the number of accidents that have occurred on that stretch of road. No further information was provided as to when or whether the measures will be implemented.
Minister Bonnett was replying to a Parliamentary Question tabled in Parliament on Monday by the Opposition Spokesperson for Gozo Chris Said, on what measures are being taken by the Government or its entities in order to address the problem of “excessive or abusive driving on this road.”
