The Superintendence of Cultural Heritage has announced the publication of – The Superintendence of Cultural Heritage: 20 Years of Discovery (2003-2022).

This commemorative publication marks two decades of dedicated work since the establishment of the Superintendence through the Cultural Heritage Act of 2002.

The book’s authors are; Bernardette Mercieca Spiteri, Cynthianne Spiteri, Kevin Borda, Kurt Farrugia and Paolo Spadaro.

The Superintendence explained that the publication highlights significant archaeological discoveries made over the past 20 years, offering insights into Malta’s rich history. “While not intended as an exhaustive scientific study, it serves as an invitation for further research.”

Through its ongoing commitment to safeguarding and promoting the shared heritage, the Superintendence said it “strives to ensure that cultural heritage remains accessible to scholars, the public, and future generations.”

This publication is available from the Superintendence Offices at an introductory price of €80, or by clicking here, and, it said, “is set to become an essential reference for future archaeological research in Malta.”
