More than 7,000 elderly residents living in care homes in Malta across Malta and Gozo received a special Christmas gift in an annual initiative organised by the Welfare Committee, in cooperation with Active Ageing and Community Care (AACC).
The Parliamentary Secretariat for Active Ageing explained that the aim of this initiative is to reinforce the values of community, solidarity and festive joy, among those living in residential homes today. The gifts included personal hygiene products and a Christmas card with a personal message of well-wishes.
The Parliamentary Secretary for Active Ageing, Dr Malcolm Paul Agius Galea, took the opportunity to, together with the Ministry’s administration, also distribute some of the gifts and offer Christmas wishes to the residents.
