153,000 tourists visited Gozo in March, almost 144,000 were same-day

Data from the National Statistics Office today revealed that 153,116 tourists visited Gozo during March, including both same-day (143,779) and overnight (9,337) or 47.6% of total tourists for the Maltese Islands (321,652).
The figure was an increase of 4.9% on the same period in 2025, the NSO said.
The number of tourists visiting Gozo for the first three months of 2026 including both same-day and overnight visitors totalled 350,196, or including both same-day (329,688) and overnight (20,508) or 43.4% of total tourists. This was a 5.3% increase on the previous year, the National Statistics Office said today.
On a national basis, total inbound tourists for March were estimated at 321,652, an increase of 11.3% when compared to the corresponding month in 2025.
Total nights spent amounted to 1,705,865, and total expenditure reached €234.1 million.
The largest share of guest nights (90.3%) was spent in rented accommodation establishments.
Inbound tourists for the first three months of 2026 amounted to 806,563, while total nights reached 4.5 million.
The NSO said that total tourist expenditure for January to March was estimated at €584.7 million, while expenditure per capita stood at €725.
