Speaking at a political event in Xewkija, Prime Minister Robert Abela stated that a new Labour government will continue to bring more progress to Gozo.

Dr Abela said that ”this is through the 100 proposals for Gozo which is the largest chapter of the Labour Party’s electoral manifesto and were written by Gozitan youth.”

The Prime Minister claimed that ”since 2013, Gozo has made great progress, more people are now working in Gozo than before 2013. With the Gozitan economy reaching over a billion euros and will continue to be stronger under a new Government.”

The Prime Minister said that a Labour Government will implement a village for Gozitan artists, which will be the ”best legacy of Victoria as a European City of Culture.”

He noted how a Labour Government implemented an aquatic pavilion and now a new Government will implement a sports village.

The PM added that ”the Labour Party’s plan for Gozo is not with artificial intelligence.”

He argued that, ”we are not doing our connectivity plan for Gozo with AI. You saw what a mess the PN made, total confusion. They published without wanting to, their plan for the expansion of the Port of Mgarr. Where today there are moorings for fishermen, they will make a yacht marina. Where today there is a forest of trees under Chambray, they will cut everything down and in their place they will make blocks of flats. Where today there is the lovely bay of Zewwieqa, they want to make a huge shopping complex.”

Dr Abela said that a Labour government ”will implement better infrastructure, better schools and an interconnector between Gozo and Malta.”

He concluded by saying, ”you are Gozo and Gozo is you. You are the students, you are the workers, you are the parents, you are the pensioners, you are the heart that beats for the Labour movement. Lend me your trust again, join us all again in our movement.”
