On Tuesday, the Coalition for Gozo, composed of Wirt Ghawdex, Din l-Art Helwa GHawdex, and Ghawdix, said that they submitted questions to the Planning Authority and ERA to enquire about the pouring of cement on coastal rocks in Marsalforn. ”We are demanding answers to our questions about this atrocity.”
In response on Wednesday, the Planning Authority said that ”as soon as the Authority was informed of the situation in Marsalforn Enforcement Officers took immediate action.”
The Authority said in a statement that its officers ”were on site by 7:30am this morning and within minutes, works had already commenced to remove the material that had been illegally placed on site yesterday.”
”The removal works are being carried out without delay so that the site is restored to its original state as quickly as possible, while the Authority continues to follow the case in line with the applicable procedures,” it said.
