Malta will once again welcome the festive season with an extraordinary celebration of music, as world-renowned Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja presents his much-anticipated Christmas concert, bringing together three of the world’s most celebrated voices
On Friday, the 18th of December, the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali will host a spectacular evening uniting three exceptional artists: Calleja will be joined on stage by legendary Italian singer-songwriter Claudio Baglioni and internationally acclaimed classical crossover soprano Sarah Brightman.
Bringing together three distinctive voices and musical traditions, the concert promises an enchanting fusion of operatic brilliance, timeless Italian melodies and festive favourites. From soaring arias to much-loved classics, audiences can look forward to an unforgettable evening of musical excellence, warmth and the magic of Christmas.
For Baglioni, the evening marks a welcome return to Malta. In 2007, his Ciao O’Scià concert on the Valletta Waterfront drew more than 100,000 people for a night of music and dialogue alongside Maltese and Italian artists.
Brightman, the world’s best-selling soprano and the original Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera, arrives fresh from her celebrated portrayal of Norma Desmond in the International Touring production of Sunset Boulevard.
Adding to the grandeur of the occasion, the three stars will perform alongside the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the musical direction of Mro Paul Bateman, together with Mro Adriano Pennino and M ro Kevin Abela.
The much-loved BOV Joseph Calleja Children’s Choir, under the direction of Soprano Gillian Zammit, will also take part, bringing an extra touch of festive charm to this special celebration.
“The festive season carries a special kind of joy, and I am delighted to share the stage with such exceptional artists for this celebration,” said Calleja. “Together, we hope to create an evening filled with warmth, emotion and the beauty of music that brings people together.”
Organised by greatt, with the support of VisitMalta, Festivals Malta, and Bank of Valletta, the Joseph Calleja Christmas Concert has become a cherished highlight of Malta’s cultural calendar, bringing internationally renowned artists to the island for truly memorable performances.
