The Malta Standards Authority (MSA) has said that the Electrical Mosquito Killer, make CCJGE (Alloy Mosquito Fly Tube) Model CMD-12-B, is being recalled from the market as it poses a serious risk to consumers.
The product causes a serious risk of an electrical shock as it does not conform to the applicable European Standards.
The Malta Standards Authority advises the economic operators who have these products in their possession to return them to their supplier. It also advises consumers to refrain from using this mosquito killer and/or to take the product back to the place of purchase.
MSA said that they will order the immediate removal of any such products from the market if these are found during inspections.
MSA concluded by saying that it reminds economic operators that all electrical equipment, falling under the Legal Notice 181 of 2004, has to be handed over to the consumer fitted with a suitable three pin configuration.
