Feast of Saint Fortunatus Martyr to be held in Xaghra

The Xaghra Parish will be commemorating the unknown martyrs in the person of the youth soldier Saint Fortunatus whose relics were brought to their parish from St. Callistus’ Catacombs in Rome. The feast will be held this coming Sunday, the 7th of November 2010.
The feast programme is as follows:
4.00pm: Solemn Second Vespers.
4.30pm: Procession with the statue of Saint Fortunatus along Victory Square, Shaft Street, part of Bullara Street, Church Street and back inside the Basilica where Eucharistic Benediction is imparted.
5.00pm: Solemn Concelebrated Mass presided by Reverend Canon Michael Galea, Vicar of the Cathedral Parish, together with the Reverend Chapter and Clergy of our Collegiate Church. The Voci Angeliche Choir animates Mass.
The celebrations ends with the veneration of the Saint’s reliquary.
7.30pm: The last Sunday mass with homily in the Basilica.
