The ex-Prime Minister Dom Mintoff was discharged home after having been admitted 4 days ago to Mater Dei Hospital following deterioration in his level of consciousness.

Investigations including a CT scan of the brain did not show any new changes. His condition is now stable, the DOI said.

Mr Mintoff is 94 years old and has been diagnosed to suffer from numerous conditions common in the elderly which often result in repeated hospital admissions.
