The Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, today visited the ongoing works on the road that runs from San Lawrenz to Dwejra.
The work will consist of 1.5 kilometers of road and includes removal of the road surface, preparation for the first layer of tarmac, which is expected be laid over the next few days and the necessary services. Other ongoing work is the rebuilding of boundary walls.
The Gozo Minister said that the construction of this road and other roads on Gozo, including those to Ta’ Pinu, Xlendi and Ramla, will strengthen the infrastructure of Gozo, as well as improving accessibility to major tourist attractions on the island. “This will not only be beneficial for Gozitan residents, but also for the thousands of Maltese and foreign tourists who visit or spend holidays in Gozo.” The Minister concluded.
Minister remember that the state of our roads today are far worse than they were 35 years ago. Its about time that the arterial roads are being done.
Remember that this current government has been in power for over 23 years and lately some roads are being done. Why did it take so long ?
What about the top kilometre of the Marsalforn road above & below the G&R supermarket.
As a motorcycle rider road surfaces like this are deadly, we pay our road license the same as everyone else and are entitled to safe roads.
When will they learn that patching holes is false economy, the first time it rains the holes re-appear.
Why is it not possible to finish anything on this island?
Why was the section of road at the Fontana spring not included in the Xlendi road?
Why havn’t the Xlendi and Ta’Pinu roads got markings on them yet?
Why does the harbour road stop just before the Xewkija round-about?
Why does the Gharb road stop before the Craft Village?
etc. etc…. the list is endless!
The Ministry should be ashamed to admit that these roads were their responsibility!
