The Gozo CCU Foundation are organising their annual ‘Concert Under The Stars,’ on Sunday, the 10th of July 2011.

The event is taking place in the gardens of Ta Frenc Restaurant, on the Marsalforn Road, at 7.30pm. Guests will be able to enjoy a lovely meal prepared by Executive Chef Mario Schembri, as well as a half bottle of wine.

This year Versatile Brass, under the baton of Maestro Paul Borg, will entertain guests during the evening.

The cost is only €40 per person, for the food and entertainment. Dress is smart casual.

The CCU Foundation said that not only will guests have a great evening, but will also be supporting a very worthy cause, to help save lives on Gozo. The project in hand is the purchase of two ventilators for the Gozo CCU/ITU Ward.

What is a Ventilator? (When patients are very seriously ill they often need help with breathing. The most complex type of breathing support commonly used in ITU is a ventilator or respirator.

This machine ‘blows’ air and oxygen into the lungs via a tube in the windpipe. These machines work with the patient to provide the required number and type of breaths, supporting or controlling completely as necessary.The ventilators that the Gozo CCU Foundation intend to purchase are also ‘non-invasive’ and therefore less traumatic for the patient)
