Melita has launched its new mobile phone application that converts iPhones or Android Smart phones into a TV remote control.

This service is free of charge for all subscribers already in possession of the interactive Melita Netbox HD, connected to Melita’s Internet service on the Entertainment Pack.

The company said that to access this application, simply download the Melita Netbox HD Control App onto your mobile phone from the Apple App Store for iPhones or from the Android Market for Android Smart phones. Once installed on the mobile phones, customers will be able to browse through the channel list, change channels, control the Netbox, rewind, record and pause live TV, view the Electronic Programme Guide, EPG, and control the volume through their mobile phone.

“With our recent investment in Fibre Power and interactive TV service we are now able to offer a variety of additional features and services that converge voice, data and video technologies into entertainment and communications applications. The Melita Netbox HD control application is a great example of this, offering yet another easy and convenient solution for our customers’ home entertainment needs,” said Ivor Micallef, Product Manager for Melita TV.
