The APS Bank Family Fest is being held this weekend at Bay Street in aid of RTK4Charity and Dar Sagra Familja. The event promises to provide fun, games and entertainment for all the family while raising awareness and funds for a worthy cause.

Amongst the many activities that are planned is a 35-hour static cycling marathon in which the general public may also participate. This activity is being done in support of amateur athlete Franco Azzopardi, an APS Bank director who has just cycled 500km from London to Paris last week. This weekend he will be taking on the next leg of his gruelling challenge in Switzerland – cycling 720km uphill to an elevation of 5000m over 28 non-stop hours. He is expected to reach Lake Constance on Saturday at 3pm and a live link is being set up to greet his arrival from Bay Street.

Other attractions during the APS Bank Family Fest include face painting, balloon fun, Disney characters, arts and crafts and games for children. There will be martial arts and gymnastics demonstrations and performances by Salt Band, Greenfields and Freddie Portelli on Sunday evening. The APS Bank Centenary Photography exhibition is also being put up at the Artisan Market area.

“We are very proud to be associated with APS Bank and this family fun event,” said Julie Roberts, Bay Street operations manager, who went on to thank the various Bay Street outlets that provided additional gifts and prizes for the public. Noel Mc Carthy, Head of Finance & Corporate Strategy at APS Bank, also thanked Bay Street and the RTK4Charity for their support. “This is the Bank’s way of thanking and giving something back to our community,” he explained.

All activities are free of charge and APS Bank, Bay Street and various supporting outlets are giving away a large number of prizes and giveaways throughout the two days. Bay Street is also launching its new 6 rider cinema and refurbished family entertainment and amusement area.

The APS Bank Family Fest is open from 10am to 10pm this Saturday 2 July and Sunday 3 July.
