On the occasion of the titular feast of Our Lady of Victories celebrated with solemnity in Xaghra Parish, the Victory Philharmonic Society, will present a grand musical concert with the participation of local musicians and singers. This concert will be held in Victory Square on Saturday, the 3rd of September 2011 from 9pm onwards.

There will be a wide-ranging repertoire during the evening. With the musical works varying from the classical era to the contemporary and modern, with a number of pop pieces for the enjoyment of the audience. Local singers Audrey Marie Bartolo and Rosman Pace will participate in the concert

The Victory Band of Xaghra was the first established music society in the Gozitan villages, dating back to October 1898, also performing in Canada in 1994, which, the society said is a first for a Gozitan band.

During the concert, the Victory Band will be under the baton of Mro. Joe Galea LCM while the Nativitas Choir, of the same society, will be directed by Mr. Ivan Attard A.MusTCL.

Everyone is warmly invited to attend this musical concert which, the Society said, “is the most prestigious event that the Victory Band organises throughout the year.”
