The signing of an agreement recently took place between the Ministry for Gozo, MAS and 12 Gozitan Local Councils, in relation to the provision of services to the Gozitan elderly through the Day Centre at Ghajnsielem.

These day services together with the Meals on Wheels services are offered through the coordination of the Care for the Elderly section within the Ministry for Gozo.

The day centre aims to provide a social outlet for elderly persons residing in Gozo who might otherwise feel isolated from the community. By enriching the lives of the elderly, this service helps prevent the onset of conditions that would entail greater dependency on their family.

The Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, presided over the signing.
