The Xaghra Parish recently inaugurated a new statue of Maria Bambina to be used annually during the band march popularly known as ‘Il-Marc tad-Dimostrazzjoni’ which leaves Nazzarenu Square and ends in Victory Square.

The new statue replaces the older one previously used for the band marches. It has been designed by artist Manuel Farrugia and made by local sculptor Pawlu Aquilina.

The donation of the statue to the Xaghra Parish was made by Mr Joseph Cordina and his family. Mr Cordina is presently the Mayor of Xaghra and the financial secretary of the Malta Labour Party.
