Earlier today, Gozo’s Emergency Response and Rescue Corps, (E.R.R.C.) lifeguards rendered assistance to a number of people who were experiencing difficulties swimming in the Blue Lagoon, Comino. 4 people needed help after finding themselves in difficulty due to the bad weather conditions. They were all escorted to safety by lifeguards on duty.
The Lifeguarding service at Blue Lagoon is being run on a daily basis till the end of September. The service is possible due to sponsorship from the from the Malta Tourism Authority to cover the running costs, Ministry for Gozo – ECO Gozo, to buy the necessary infrastructure. Support is also being provided by Transport Malta, Civil Protection Department and transport Malta.

Was there. Things started tuning sour at about 1pm with overcast clouds, rain, and increased wind speed; leading to higher waves. ERRC, thanks for your sterling service.
Well done to the ERRC for their immediate attention.
Please note that the weather is getting worse in the coming days.
