The Maltex Philatelic Exhibition, Malta’s annual major stamp and postal history event, is being organised by the Malta Philatelic Society at The Green Lounge, Hotel Phoenicia, Floriana.

This year’s slogan is “Celebrating the 45th Anniversary of the Malta Philatelic Society.” In this twelfth edition, members of the Society will display Traditional Stamps, unique items of Postal History, Old Maltese Postcards and Thematic Collections.

The official inauguration ceremony will be held at 6.00pm on Thursday, the 20th of October, 2011.

The XII Maltex 2011 Philatelic Exhibition will then be open to the general public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of October, with the opening hours as shown below:

Friday, 21st October: 9.00 am ~ 6.00 pm

Saturday, 22nd October: 9.00 am ~ 6.00 pm

Sunday, 23rd October: 9.00 am ~ 12.00 pm

Maltapost plc will be rendering postal services at their Temporary Post Office set up at the Exhibition, whilst well known foreign and local philatelic dealers will offer professional advice and free valuations.

Entrance to the exhibition is free.
