The President of Malta and Mrs Abela visited Bank of Valletta’s Head Office in Santa Venera where the preparations of the piggy banks for distribution in all schools in Malta and Gozo were in the final stages. The President was greeted by Bank of Valletta CEO Tonio Depasquale.

This is the eighth consecutive year that Bank of Valletta and L-Istrina are collaborating to encourage children to donate some of their money to L-Istrina. A piggy bank will be placed in each and every class in all schools in Malta and Gozo while large piggy banks will be placed in popular sports to make it easy for all children to place their donation.

The L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank Campaign shall shortly have its dedicated facebook page where an innovative competition will enable a number of children to participate during the live broadcast of l-Istrina.

All funds collected through the L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank Campaign together with a donation by Bank of Valletta will be presented during the live broadcast of L-Istrina on the 26th December 2011. The aim of the campaign increase the level of awareness of the role played by the Malta Community Chest fund and about those members of society that are most in need among the younger generations.
