Enemalta has advised that a Marsa distribution centre switchboard fault led to a widespread power cut, which affected all of Gozo and parts of Malta thiss afternoon.
The power went off in Gozo at around 4pm. It was restored just after 5pm.
Enemalta said the outage was “caused by a switchboard fault at the Marsa South distribution centre.”.
During the switching operations, Enemalta said that “the distribution centre suffered another fault which led to the tripping of Boiler 8 and a Gas turbine at Marsa Power Station as well as Mosta Distribution centre, which supplies the north of Malta.
