The Blood Donation Area at Gozo General Hospital is going to be open this Sunday, the 27th of November from 8.30am till 1.00pm for those who wish to make a blood donation.
Blood donation is sometimes taken for granted or ignored.
The more blood donors the better. When donating blood people are helping others and having the chance to help save lives.
The Minister of Health Dr. Joe Cassar stated in his speech on the occassion of WBDD, “regular donors are going to be given the flu vaccine for free at the national blood transfusion centre by appointment.”
Donors who have donated blood from the 14th of June 2011 onwards, are entitled to the flu vaccine. An sms is going to be sent to these donors by the departament. Those who are intrested can call on 22066201 to make an appointment. Gozitian donors are to call at the donation area at Gozo General Hospital to make appointments there.
