The Planning and Priorities Coordination Division within the Office of the Prime Minister is organising coach tours highlighting the benefits of Cohesion Policy 2007-2013 this weekend, Saturday, the 26th and Sunday, the 27th of November. Four routes will be visiting various projects in Malta and two of the routes will be touring projects in Gozo.
Rotta: EU07-13 will give the public a first hand opportunity to find out more how EU funds are being invested in Malta and Gozo with six different routes, covering a select number of projects co- financed through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Cohesion Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF).
Have you ever wondered where all the money we get from the European Union goes? Every year, the Planning and Priorities Co-ordination Division (PPCD) organises an event meant to help people learn about the projects financed by the EU.
The two bus routes set out for Gozo will be touring such projects as the Radiology Unit at the Hospital, the refurbished Villa Rundle Gardens, MCAST, heritage sites such as the Ggantija Temples and the Ta’ Pinu Shrine, and the Cultural and Historical Eco-Museum in St George’s Square in the centre of Victoria.
This project – The Making of a People: A Cultural and Historical Eco-Museum – started back in 1998. Since then, the Fondazzjoni Belt Victoria said it “has worked endlessly to see this project through to completion, also organising a number of activities to promote awareness about the project. One such activity was the open day held last March which was very well attended by parishioners and outsiders alike. “
The Fondazzjoni Belt Victoria said that “the project is being part financed by the EU and 15% of the total project cost is being raised by benefactors. Contributions are most welcome and the sum of €150 will get you a life-long membership to the museum.”

The museum will be featuring in Gozo Bus Route B, starting at 13.30 on Saturday and finishing at 17.30, and on Sunday morning starting at 08.30 to 12.30.
