Earlier this year, the Swiss artist, Lucia Magdalena Brogle-Finatti, spent two months on the island of Gozo to improve her English skills.

Inspired by Gozo’s nature and it’s people, she produced one ceramic angel a day during her stay. All angels represent the island of Gozo, its impression on the artist and reflected the artist’s experiences at that time.

During Lucia’s stay and walks on the island, she collected, “supposing valueless,” discarded pieces of weathered and rusty iron objects and transformed them into works of art, representing the title of her exhibition: “Supposing valueless – Supposing valuable.” The exhibition is taking place at the Reifeisenkasser bank in Gelterkindern near Zürich and will be open to the public until the 6th of January 2012.

In the beginning of next year the artist will also publish a book with her artwork and background photographs of Gozo.

More information about the artist can be found on www.toepferchaeller.ch.
