In a statement released by Mater Dei Hospital, it said that President Emeritus Eddie Fenech Adami has been admitted to Mater Dei Hospital this afternoon. His condition is stable.
He will be kept at Mater Dei Hospital for observation.
It has been reported that the fomer President, who is 77, was admitted to hospital following a suspected heart attack.
