Prime Minister. Lawrence Gonzi was re-confirmed as PN leader this evening, with 96.5% of the votes, following an election in which he was the only candidate.

The Nationalist Party said that 882 delegates cast their votes from a possible 887, with a further 12 delegates not picking up their voting document.

851 voted in favour of Lawrence Gonzi and 22 votes against with 9 votes invalid.

Following the outcome of the leadership election the Prime Minister said “it confirmed that the PN was one united family.”
