The Nativity of Our Lady’s Parish in Xaghra Gozo will present the annual Easter pageant, ‘Ic-Centurjun’ (The Centurion), lyrics by the late Rev. Canon Joe Meilak, with the participation of local actors.

This pageant will be held next Sunday 8th April 2012, Easter Sunday, from 6.15pm onwards in Victory Square.

The story of this pageant is centred around the figure of the Roman Centurion who is mentioned in the Gospels as the person who pierced Jesus’ heart on the cross. The author imagines the biography of this important personality in the history of our salvation by recounting his birth at the same time of Jesus’ birth and continues by describing his youth and his involvement in the Roman Empire up to the unscheduled meeting with the Son of God himself.

This pageant is directed by Mrs. Josephine Azzopardi who is responsible for Catholic Action in Xaghra.

There will be a special seating for all those attending. Tickets for this seating are sold on a first come first served basis from the Xaghra Parish Office by not later than Saturday 7th April.

The Xaghra Parish is warmly inviting everyone to attend this live representation with a contemporary message related to the Risen Lord.
