Gozitan man given 13 month sentence for motoring offences28-year Julian Calleja of Munxar, was sentenced in the Gozo Courts today to thirteen months in prison today after he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving withouth a licence and insurance.

Mr Calleja was also accused of driving without a seat belt, speeding in a residential area and being in breach of several conditions imposed on him by the Magistrates court in a degree issued on the 15th of March.

The incident took place on Saturday afternoon when he was seen driving recklessly through the streets of Munxar in a car without number plates.

Apart from the custodial sentence, Magistrate Josette Demicoli also ordered confiscation of the vehicle he was driving, the suspension of his driving licence for one year and revocation of the bail that was deposited in a previous case.

      excellent news, lets hope the powers that be bring more of these prosecutions, these drivers are out their, we have all seen them, nice to see the law being applied
