The Gozo Creative Theatre Club will be performing the musical ‘Stella and Leone,’  on Friday, the 8th of June at the Amphiteatre in the Villa Rundle Gardens, Victoria at 8pm.

The performance should have taken place on the 20th of May, as the finale of this year’s Notte Gozitana-Lejliet Lapsi activites, but was postponed due to bad weather.

Stella and Leone is a musical based on the novel by Gozitan poetess Mary Meilaq. This social musical comedy is the Gozitan version of Romeo and Juliette and it is the only play the poetess has ever written.

The Gozo Creative Theatre Club is an established drama group which regularly produces innovative and creative theatrical performances. In this production, George Mizzi the artistic director of the group, will be directing a splendid group of actors which include Margaret Camilleri (k/a Morena), Mark Lawrence Zammit, Darren Muscat, Maria Theuma, George and Helen Camilleri, Mario Portelli and Maria Schembri. Music is by Mro Antione Mercieca and lyrics by Joe Psaila.

The musical has been organised and held in collaboration with the Gozo Culture and Information Office with the Ministry for Gozo.
