Melita has advised that the distruption to service today was casued by damage to a fiber cable, which happened at 11:20am, affecting the following localities: Gozo, Xemxija, Mgarr, Zebbiegh, Manikata, Bidnija and Mellieha.

The damage had been caused by a third party contractor performing road works in St. Paul’s Bay. The Melita technical team went on site to assess the damage and repair the fault as quickly as possible.

Service had resumed in Gozo by around 4pm this afternoon.

Melita apologised for any inconvenience caused despite this being beyond the company’s control.
