For the second year running the Tenchi Ryu Kempo Karate Club organised an autumn seminar, at the Gozo Sports Complex in Victoria, which was conducted by Master Borut Kincl, 7th Dan Black Belt, founder and head of the Kempo Arnis Federation (KAF) and Head Instructor of the Special forces of Slovenia.

The seminar covered:

Bunkai (Kata interpretation) for realistic self-defence situations;

Police and Military Tactics;

Defence against weapons;

Knife fighting.

The seminar was attended by around 100 participants from other karate schools in both Gozo and Malta, as well as members of the Armed Forces of Malta and the Police.

Scenarios have included tactical combat situations, tactical escape, control tactics, transition to weapons, knife fighting and sparring and catered for every skill level from basic through intermediate to very complex, The event has been extended and concluded on Monday evening with a practice session by Master Master Borut Kincl.

This seminar has been sponsored by the Ministry for Gozo and the Gozo Sports Complex. The Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono met with the organisers of the seminar, who have been offering sessions of martial art at the Sports Complex for the past 20 years.

The Minister thanked them for the valuable work in the field of sport and hoped that they would continue with teaching this skill to children and adults in Gozo.

From next Saturday Skola Sport resumes in the Complex for the young children of Gozo.

On the 10th and 11th of Novembe, the Sports Complex Gozo will host another seminar about the martial arts. The Kali-JKD Martial Arts Academy Gozo will be hosting a two-day seminar on Jeet Kune Do and South-East Asian Martial Arts. The seminar will be conducted by Guro Mike Gregory.
