The price of one litre cartons of milk will increase by seven euro cents, from 65 to 72 euro cents as from tomorrow, Malta Dairy Products Ltd have announced.
“The last six months have seen further significant increases in the global market prices of the raw materials used in the production of animal balanced feeds as well as record oil prices. Moreover, further price increases have also been experienced in the other major prime cost components ranging from food ingredients to packaging material,” the company said.
“As a consequence, Malta Dairy Products Limited is again being faced with an enormous increase in its expense when purchasing these raw materials that it uses in the production of its fresh milk and other milk products," the company said. They added that it was impossible for the company to absorb all these increases.
There has been no increases in the prices of yogurt products or fresh rikotta.
