Melita has said that is has been requested to provide telephone (fixed and mobile) numbers and contact details of all its fixed line and mobile customers to the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA) for the purpose of publication of a national printed directory.

In line with the company’s policy to protect the privacy of customers’ data, and in line with its data protection obligations, Melita said it is requesting customers to consent their permission and to verify the information they would like to have included in the national printed directory.

“Should a customer refuse to have his/her contact details listed in the directory, Melita will not provide the customers’ information for publication,” the company said.

To consent their permission and to verify the information for publication, Melita mobile and fixed telephony customers may visit http://www.melita.com/printeddirectory or any of Melita’s retail outlets.

No action is required from those customers who would not like their contact details published.

Customers have until Friday November 30th to notify Melita of their intentions. Replies received until November 30th will be forwarded to MITA for publication in the national printed directory.
