Gozo’s Bishop, Mgr Mario Grech, will officially launch the Gozo diocesan events of the Pauline Year, commemorating two thousand years from St Paul’s birth, during a solemn celebration at St Peter and St Paul’s Basilica in Nadur, on this coming Saturday, the 28th of June, at 6.30pm.

The year of St. Paul, or Annus Paulinus is being celebrated on the occasion of the second millennium from the birth of St. Paul, which the historians attribute to have happened between the year 7 and 10 Anno Domini.

The celebrations were announced by Pope Bendict XVI in 2007, on the solemnity day of the apostles St. Peter and St. Paul.

The year of St. Paul will commence on the 28th June 2008 and end on the 29th June 2009.
