Enemalta have issued the following statement in response to AD’s earlier statement on the Marfa substation, which is published below:

“Reference is being made to the statement Alternattiva Demokratika relating to the building of an electrical substation in Marfa to supply people ‘abusively occupying public land.’ The statement implies that a sub station will be built in the area in the very near future.

Enemalta Corporation wishes to clarify that at this stage there is no commitment whatsoever to actually construct a sub-station in the area, and the work being carried out is part of our normal planning and preparation strategy to identify a suitable site to reinforce an area which suffers from low voltage.

The Corporation as per standard practice regularly plans for the construction of a number of sub stations, which are not all actually built due to either changed circumstances or as a result of prioritisation of the use of available resources.”
